Lester McMasters was born and raised in Garfield, Washington. He learned precision wood working as a patternmaker in the United States Navy. In 1982 after twenty years of setup and minor repairs on instruments, a life long fascination of music and instruments became a serious endeavor when McMasters Guitars was born.

In 2001, I expanded and built a new shop on my property in Hermiston. My wife Leanna, and I have lived here since 1977. I use the highest quality parts and woods available. I spend as much time to cleanliness and detail inside my instruments as on the outside. I spare no time to craft as much beauty, sound, and playability that is possible in each instrument. Each custom order is tailored to meet the individuals playing style, and personal choices in woods and inlays.

All of my guitars are shipped in a custom made hardshell case, manufactured for me by TKL in their cedar creek custom plant in Virginia. Shop tours available by appointment.
